Buffy Shirley-Beavan

Founding Partner

BVM&S MRCVS

Buffy Shirley-Beavan

Buffy started Summerhill Equine Vets in 1992, having previously honed her expertise with former Olympic Team Vet John Killingbeck. Over the years, the practice has grown into a world-class specialist performance horse practice.

Buffy's impressive list of credentials include having been the treating vet for the Dubai Polo Team and UK vet to the New Zealand and Japanese Event Teams. Her clientele includes many top racing and sport horse yards with her primary focus on all aspects of jump racing.

Her philosophy is to look at the horse as a whole and to always try and prevent rather than just cure. Key to this ethos is Buffy's keen interest in nutrition and assessing a yard's environment to achieve the best for horses in their care.
